Nigerian Army kindly release that soldier

As at the time of writing I have not heard that the soldier who was reported to have been detained for accepting a marriage proposal has been released.

We have seen statements purported from the Army giving reasons based on some archaic laws as to why she was detained

Who even made these retrogressive laws?  Can’t these laws be upgraded from time to time in response to the dynamism of the society?

We need a people friendly Army . We no longer want to have the Army of the 80s where it looked like their personnel were perpetually at war with the populace

Those days you see them walk around with horse whips and flogging people at the slightest provocation.

Today the Army more than ever needs the support of the people especially as they are facing a serious guerrilla war.

A softer image would allow for the civilian populace to work very closely with them in tackling these issue

I could be wrong, but being proposed to and accepting with a kiss in uniform in my books is the most romantic thing ever.

We see it in Hollywood movies and we know it happens a lot in other very serious advanced armies

Bundling this young girl into a purported detention and following it up with all these funny reasons just shows where our Army isn’t in today’s world.

Please our soldiers should be allowed to follow their passion within acceptable means. They should be allowed to connect with civil societies so that other young ones will be inspired to join the forces.

The other day a Comedian was detained by the Navy for only God knows what.

Our military commanders should look into their statutes once again and begin to see how they can make the Army softer and more friendly while still maintaining the discipline it requires to carry out its task.

The young lady should be immediately released no be she be our problem
