Ibadan, July 29, 2025 (NAN) A 27-year-old man, Lekan Aderoju, on Tuesday appeared before a Mapo Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over alleged assault.
Aderoju, of no fixed address, was charged with conspiracy, conduct likely to cause the breach of peace, and assault.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Seye Akinola, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 22, at about 7.30a.m, at Odo-Osun area of Ibadan.
Akinola alleged that the defendant assaulted the complainant, Kareem Akeem by hitting him with stick and broken bottle on the head.
He alleged that the defendant inflicted injuries on the complainant.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 516, 249(d), and 355 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. O. Latunji, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Aug. 27 for hearing. (NAN)
