Man, 28, arraigned over alleged theft of public address system

The Police in Lagos on Friday, dragged a 28-year-old man before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over alleged theft.

The defendant, Hamed Balogun is standing trial before Magistrate O.M Ogun, on a one-count charge of stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, ASP Esther Adesulu told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 4, at the Electronics section of the Alaba International Market in Ojo, Lagos.

She alleged that the defendant stole a public address system model Artech belonging to a trader,  Mr Nnamdi Anyanaso.

The prosecutor said that the defendant was eventually arrested following police investigation.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos Sandra 2015.

The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.

She adjourned the case until July 21, for mention. (NAN).
