Man, 28, remanded for alleged drug peddling

A Federal High Court in Ibadan on Tuesday remanded one Moses Oguntola, 28 in the correctional centre for allegedly peddling 120gm of Cannabis Sativa.

Justice Uche Agomoh ordered Oguntola to be remanded in Agodi custodian centre after he had pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of unlawful dealing in narcotic brought against him.

Agomoh adjourned the case until June 15, for hearing on the bail application.

Earlier, counsel to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Oyo State Command, Mr D.O. Otunla  informed the court that the defendant committed the crime on March 31 in the Itesiwaju Local Government area of Oyo State.

Otunla alleged that the NDLEA operatives nabbed Oguntola in possession of a bag concealed with dried weed substance which was confirmed to be cannabis sativa weighing 120gm.

He added that the offence contravene Section 11(C ) of the NDLEA Act Cap n30 Law of the Federation, 2004. (NAN)
