A 41-year-old man, Jamiu Alatishe, who allegedly stabbed his neighbour on the head with a broken bottle, on Tuesday appeared at an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Alatishe, whose residential address was not provided, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and causing grievous bodily harm.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant and one other still at large, conspired and committed the offences on Jan. 9, at No. 81, Idimu Road, Ejigbo, Lagos.
He said that the defendant stabbed his neighbour, one Mr. Segun Olatunbosun, on his head with a broken bottle due to a misunderstanding.
According to the prosecutor, the victim is still in hospital receiving treatment.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 173 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr. E. O. Ogunkanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendant.
He adjourned the case till Feb. 2, for mention. (NAN).
