Kaduna, Feb.2,2026(NAN) A middle-aged man, Sunday Kasun on Monday prayed an upper Customary Court sitting in Kaduna State to grant him custody of his 14-year-old son.
He stated that the boy had been living with his maternal grandparents in Akwa Ibom .
On her part, the defendant Gloria Udong, the mother of the child told the court she had been the only person taking care of the teenager since he was born.
The Judge, Ms Patience Musa, had given the couple time to settle the matter out of court and report the result of the settlement.
However, the counsel to the defendant told the court that the settlement was not successful because they failed to reach an agreement.
He prayed the court to adjourn the matter for further hearing, saying the complainant’s counsel who was not in court had also agreed for the matter to be adjourned.
The Judge then adjourned the matter until Feb. 23 for further hearing. (NAN)
