A businessman, Abdulmumin Sulaiman, on Monday dragged one Anas Mai-nama to a Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna for allegedly refusing to pay him N87,000 he owed him.
The complainant, whom spoke through his counsel Salisu Abdullahi, said he sold a cow worth N270, 000 to Mai-nama in 2025.
He alleged that the defendant paid only N183, 000 and failed to pay the remaining balance of N87, 000.
He added that he tried different means to get his money but to no avail.
The complainant prayed court to assist him recover the money and to compel the defendant to pay N100, 000 as cost for wasting his time.
The defendant, however, claimed that he didn’t buy the cow as it was expensive.
“He told me to slaughter the cow, sell the meat and give him the money, which I did.
“I made N183, 000 and gave him but he kept disturbing to add more,” Mai-nama said.
The Judge, Malam Mua’wiyya Shehu, adjourned the matter to June 6 for the complainant to present witnesses. (NAN)
