Manager docked for allegedly defrauding foundation

Badagry (Lagos State), April 2, 2026 (NAN) The Police on Thursday dragged a 32-year-old man, Akinniku Adedamola, before a  Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, over alleged N25.9 million fraud.

The defendant whose address is unknown, is standing trial on charges bordering on  fraud and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Insp. Friday Maneh, told the Court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in 2025, at Morogbo, in Badagry, Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant being the manager of a company known as  Fidelis Foundation, obtained the sum of N25.9 million from the foundation with intent to defraud.

He alleged that the defendant converted the money to its own use, without the consent of the company.

“He was later caught by the people and handed over to the Police for prosecution,” he said

The offences contravenes the provisions of sections168 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State ,2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr A J Aina, granted the defendant bail in the sum of two million naira with two sureties in like sum.

He ordered that one of the sureties must be a company director.

The court adjourned the case until May 27, for mention. (NAN)
