Nasarawa ( Nasarawa State) March.4, 2026 (NAN) Member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Hajarat Danyaro, has distributed 700 bags of 7.5 kg of rice, 300 wrappers to her constituents in the spirit of Ramadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that at the ceremony titled: “Ramadan and Sallah Palliatives”, the lawmaker also distributed 170 clothing materials, 20 bags of millet and a car to the people of her constituency.
Speaking at the event on Tuesday at Nasarawa Local Government Secretariat, Danyaro said the gesture was meant to put smile on the faces of her constituents and improve their standard of living before, during and after the Ramadan.
She said that the gift was part of her continued commitment to positive change in the lives of the people of her constituency.
“This is my tenth distribution since assumption of office. Today, I have distributed 700 bags of 7.5kg of rice, 300 wrappers for women, 170 pieces of Babban Riga/Agbada/Sheda to traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, 20 bags of millet and a car.
“Let me seize this opportunity to call on the beneficiaries not to dispose off the items but to use them for the purposes they are meant for,” she advised.
Danyaro also assured her determination toward sustainable sound and quality representation at the state legislature.
The lawmaker also encouraged the people to continue to pray and support her, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and other leaders to succeed.
She further enjoined the people of her constituency to continue to show love, tolerance, and live in harmony with each other irrespective of their affiliations.
Besides, the lawmaker appreciated Mr Tijani Aliyu-Ahmed, Federal Commissioner/CEO, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) for donating one million Naira to support the programme.
On his part, the chairman of the occasion commended the lawmaker for having the interests of her people at heart.
He said that the gesture would go a long way in improving the standard of living of the people before, during and after Ramadan.
The federal commissioner urged the people of the constituency to continue to support the lawmaker to succeed.
In their Goodwill messages, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril, the Emir of Nasarawa, represented by Wambai Nasarawa, Alhaji Usman Jibril, Dr Aliyu Bello, APC Chairman, Nasarawa State represented by Mr Isaiah Agah, APC Zonal Chairman, Nasarawa West lauded the efforts of Danyaro.
While describing the gesture as timely, they also urged the constituents to support her to succeed beyond 2027.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Makama Dogo Mosque, Nasarawa LG, Malam Umar Abdullahi, said: “He who gives to the less privileged and others will certainly get reward from God Almighty.”
He described the month of Ramadan as a month of alms giving and love, while calling on wealthy individuals to assist the needy to positively impact on their standard of living. (NAN)
