He said the essence was to show gratitude to the people of Kaduna State for being wonderful hosts in the past 60 years.
“This is part of giving back to society. It is to ensure that Ahmadu Bello Way, which is the central business district of the city, is clean, as a matter of showing good health habits and maintaining environmental sanitation,” he said.
He said that rodents and mosquitoes transmitting diseases would be reduced, and children as well as adults would not be sick.
“This is an example we are showing businesses along the Ahmadu Bello Way to maintain good health habits.
He added that sanitation was a way of showing the cadets that service to the nation goes in many directions, apart from security.
He said that leadership entails that the armed forces must extend service to the nation and the people.
He said the NDA in Kaduna was showing such an example with sanitation by disposing of the waste thrown around by people who conduct social activities and various businesses.
“Going forward, our clear message is that Kaduna must be clean and Ahmadu Bello Way must be sparkling so that businesses will strive and those engaged in socio-economic activities will go about in good health and a hygienic environment.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on Friday the institution observed a special Juma’at prayer in commemoration of its 60th anniversary and will on Sunday, Feb. 4, hold an interdenominational service at the Saviour’s Chapel (Protestant), NDA, Afaka. (NAN)
