buhariPresident Muhammadu Buhari has called off the intended visitation to the Ogoniland today, to flag off the cleanup of the area, Quick News Africa has learnt.

Presidency is undecided on who would represent the President at the official launch of the cleanup of Ogoniland as the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who was been speculated in some quarters to represent the President is away to represent the president at 8th summit of African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States in Papua, New Guinea.

No official reasons have been given on the president’s decision to shelve his earlier visit to Ogoniland.

It is been speculated in some quarters that it may not unconnected with the alleged ear infection but security threats from aggrieved militants within the region.

The leadership of the major opposition party in Nigeria, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had last week alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari is currently sick and is set to be flown out of Nigeria for medical attention.

It would be recalled that Buhari reportedly called off his visit to Lagos due to an ‘ear infection’ which was dispelled swiftly.

Another source hinted that the president may have cave in to the militants’ threats to the presidency on Wednesday, saying that “if the President must come to our land, he must make sure he signs his death warrant”.
