Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has urged Nigerian leaders to remain resolute in confronting challenges and scale up socio economic development.
The Managing Director of the foundation, Mr. Gambo Umar said in a statement on Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday, in Kaduna.
The foundation said it strongly believes that Nigeria would emerge from its present challenges, stronger and more resilient than ever.
“But only if the leadership and the led all come together and work hard at entrenching good governance at all levels and foster inclusive economic development,” it added.
It noted that 61 years after independence, the country remained enmeshed with various challenges.
“Nigeria is still in its trying moments, grappling with myriads of challenges, such as banditry, Boko haram insurgency, kidnapping, and economic downturn that came with poverty and unemployment.”
The foundation urged leaders to use the nation’s heterogeneity, size and resources to project a stronger and a more united nation, and attain the required growth and development.
It appreciated Nigeria’s founding fathers and leaders at various levels who “commendably strived to instill unity, brotherhood and patriotism amongst Nigerians”.
The foundation hailed the resilience and steadfastness of all Nigerians striving for a strong united and prosperous nation, as envisaged by the founding fathers. (NAN)
