The Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) joined this year the Royal family in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II.  Queen Elizabeth II became the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. In celebration, an extended bank holiday throughout the United Kingdom provided 4-Day events featuring a Thanksgiving Service, Trooping the Colour, Jubilee Party and Jubilee Pageant, which all paid tribute to her years of selfless service.

Representing the Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) were the President of the Association, Abimbola Okoya, and the Vice Patron of the Association, Philip Hall (OBE), who joined the British and foreign guests at the Jubilee Pageant, which was held in front of Buckingham Palace, London. The Platinum Pageant told the story of Queen Elizabeth ll and her contributions to the United Kingdom and other countries of the Commonwealth.

The N-BA was formed in Nigeria in 1969 as a corresponding association now known as the British-Nigeria Education Trust, which is based in the UK and had H.R.H. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, as its patron. In 2009, the Association was incorporated as a trust, a non-profit making organisation dedicated to developing relationships between individuals and organisations in Nigeria, Britain and the Commonwealth.
