The National Police Council has confirmed the appointment of Mr Solomon Arase as Inspector-General of Police.
Arase’s appointment was today confirmed at a meeting of the police council presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, at the State House in Abuja.
The meeting of the police council took place at Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa shortly after the Council of State meeting held earlier in the day.
President Jonathan had on April 21 appointed Arase Acting IGP following the removal of Sulaiman Abba in controversial circumstances.
