Lagos, July 30, 2025 (NAN) Dr Nehemiah David, a Nigerian multi-award-winning language expert, has earned high praise for his role as official interpreter and translator at the 2025 West African Francophone Regional Conference on Gender.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the conference held from July 14 to July 17 in Lomé, Togo.

David, in a telephone interview with NAN in Lagos on Tuesday, said he provided seamless interpretation between English and French during the conference.

“ I ensured inclusive and effective communication across critical sessions on Gender Equality, Gender Justice, Gender-Based Violence, Gender Analysis, Gender Transformation, and Advocacy.

“The conference served as a training platform for stakeholders, partners, and World Renew representatives from Senegal, Mali, Togo, and Niger.

“World Renew, an organisation compelled by a deep passion for justice and mercy, joins communities worldwide to renew hope, reconcile lives, and restore creation.

“Their presence further emphasised the importance of faith-based collaboration in advancing gender-focused development.

“Delegates from the U.S., Canada, and across West Africa commended my work, noting how my fluent, culturally attuned translation helped amplify voices and bridge divides.

“Interpreting isn’t just about words, it’s about making understanding possible. Being part of this platform means helping people connect around ideas that can change lives,” he said.

While not a gender advocate himself, he said his linguistic expertise and cross-cultural sensitivity made him a key figure behind the success of the event, which concluded with renewed regional commitments to addressing gender-based challenges.

With an expanding portfolio of high-level assignments, David promised to continue to stand out as a trusted language professional in regional and international development spaces. (NAN)
