NNPC, Dangote Group Deepen Energy Collaboration, Reaffirm Commitment to Healthy Competition

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals have agreed to deepen their strategic partnership to bolster energy security and drive national prosperity, both entities said on Thursday.

The renewed commitment came during a courtesy visit by Dangote Group President and CEO, Aliko Dangote, to NNPC Ltd.’s Group CEO, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, at the company’s headquarters in Abuja.
Dangote, who led a delegation of senior executives, pledged to work closely with the new NNPC leadership to ensure energy sufficiency in Nigeria. He dismissed any notion of rivalry between the two organisations, stressing that their relationship is anchored in mutual cooperation.
“There is no competition between us. We are not here to compete with NNPC Ltd. NNPC is part and parcel of our business, and we are also part of NNPC,” Dangote said. “This is an era of cooperation between the two organizations.”
Congratulating Ojulari and his senior management team on their appointments, Dangote acknowledged the magnitude of the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in their ability to deliver, citing the experience and competence within NNPC.
In response, Ojulari welcomed the partnership, stating that the company was committed to fostering a healthy, commercially advantageous relationship with the Dangote Group.
“We have a dedicated and skilled workforce at NNPC Ltd. committed to delivering value for Nigeria,” he said. “We look forward to a legacy of national prosperity built on innovation, collaboration, and healthy competition.”
Both leaders pledged to personally oversee the evolving relationship between their organisations, emphasizing the potential for shared growth and strategic alignment in Nigeria’s energy sector.
