Akure, Jan.16, 2026 (NAN) The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has decorated its spokesperson and 109 newly promoted personnel in the state.
Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, NSCDC State Commandant, who decorated the officers on Friday in Akure, said the decoration was a reward of hard work.
Ibiloye appreciated the Minister of Interior, Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, for counting the promoted officers and men worthy.
He said the promoted personnel were among the backlog for promotion before the minister’s appointment.
The commandant explained that the elevation of the personnel could also be based on their contribution to the development and growth of the service.
According to him, the promotion exercise is not a small thing because it has to go through vigorous processing for this few to have emerged.
“Promotion is just a reward for hard work and to pass the promotion exams, there are other conditions that come into play as federal character so that we have balance at various levels.
“So, you need to know that your elevation comes with enormous responsibility, you must double your efforts now , you must work harder than before and live up to expectations
“There is also need for you to improve on your performance to do more on safety of lives and property and to ensure Nigerians, particularly people of Ondo State, can sleep with their eyes closed,” he said.
Ibiloye also commended his officers for their professionalism and support in the command, and appealed to residents and other security agencies for support to ensure the betterment of the country.
Also, Mrs Folashade Olakanse, one of the personnel decorated as Deputy Commandant of Corp (DCC), appreciated the minister of interior and Commandant General for counting them worthy of the promotion.
Olakanse promised to work diligently and live up to the expectations of the corps by working with the law and the mandate of NSCDC.
“I see the elevation as motivation to give my best and to work more diligently, with every sense of discipline and dedication to the corps,” she said.
Similarly, Mr Daniel Aidamenbor, the command’s Spokesperson, decorated with the rank of Superintendent of Corp (SC), promised to discharge his duty diligently by ensuring community policing and protection of critical infrastructure.
Aidamenbor, who said that the promotion was a new level of responsibility and a new task, explained that each rank had its own responsibility.
“What is expected of me as spokesperson is to do everything within my power to ensure that the public trust we presently enjoy continues,” he said. (NAN)
