Asaba, March, 18. 2026 (NAN) The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Delta, says it has deployed 1,070 personnel in the state to beef up security for a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The state Commandant of the corps, Mr Chinedu Igbo, disclosed this in a statement issued by the command’s Spokesman, Mr Anthony Uchenna, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
Igbo stated that officers were assigned to different strategic areas to adequately protect all the critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.
He asked all the Area Commanders to ensure proper security coordination of their areas.
He also directed the Divisional Officers to effectively mobilise their personnel for deployment to all recreational centres within their jurisdiction.
Igbo also urged all the component Commanders and Special Forces to work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure the protection of lives, safety, peace, and protection of critical national assets and infrastructure in the state throughout the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
He advised residents of the state to go about their celebration without fear of molestation.
He said: “The command, in collaboration with other security agencies, will ensure adequate security for lives and property during and after the Eid celebration.
“We will leave no stone unturned to make sure that miscreants and other criminal elements are apprehended and brought to book until a safe Delta is achieved. (NAN)
