Abuja, Jan. 22, 2026 (NAN) The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership matchday 7 delivered goals, drama and crucial victories for the teams as the race for Super 6 gets tougher.
Visiting FC Robo Queens suffered a hard blow to hosts Remo Stars, losing their six-game winning streak in the process.
At the Remo Stars stadium in Ikenne, the home side required an effort from Cynthia Mega to strike the decisive goal in the 73rd minute, bringing Robo Queens’ unbeaten run to a halt.
In spite of the loss, Robo Queens remained on top of Group B table with 18 points, while Remo Stars are five points short in the same group.
Elsewhere, Rivers Angels were in ruthless form in Port Harcourt, cruising to a 5–0 win over Heartland Queens.
Ramotalahi Kareem scored a superb hat-trick in the 14th, 33rd and 58th minutes, while Abasiofon Uwah added two more in the 22nd and 38th minutes to complete the rout.
Angels are second in group A with 15 points, while Heartland Queens are fourth with eight points.
In Lagos, Dannaz Ladies secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Ahudiyannem Queens.
Amarachi Anusillem opened the scoring for the hosts in the 58th minute before Chizaram Onyenze restored parity for the visitors in the 71st minute.
Adewunmi Akintola sealed the win late with an 87th-minute strike to move to seventh place and seven points in group B.
Ahudiyannem Queens, who are without a win this season are bottom of the group with two points.
Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw with Iyamho in Edo.
Seember Emmanuel gave Confluence Queens the lead in the 19th minute, before Omotoke Ogunfuwa grabbed a late equaliser for Nasarawa Amazons in the 88th minute.
The Lafia-based team are second in group B with 15 points, while Confluence are on ninth place with five points.
In Benin City, Edo Queens claimed a 2–1 victory over Pacesetter Queens.
Saidat Adeniyi scored early in the seventh minute for the hosts before Aminat Adebisi equalised for the visitors in the 51st minute.
Doosuur Atume netted the winner in the 58th minute to ensure victory for the home side who are 14 points clear off their opponents who are in bottom of group A with one point.
Ibom Angels defeated Ekiti Queens 2–1 in Uyo.
Happiness Agboye opened the scoring in the 10th minute while Seun Fakunle equalised for Ekiti Queens in the 30th minute.
However, it was Wami Georgeline who struck in the 80th minute to secure all three points for the hosts.
The result meant both sides share same points in group B, although Ekiti Queens are highly placed than Ibom Angels due to goal difference.
The Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba saw visiting Abia Angels edging the hosts by a lone goal, thanks to a 55th-minute effort from Blessing Okon.
The win moves Abia Angels to 11 points in the group, while the hosts are one point shy off the Umuahia-based team in Group B. (NAN)
