Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in the state.
The governor commended the party members, the electoral monitoring team, and the primary election committee for ensuring a smooth and orderly process across the state.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote, Yahaya said the orderly conduct of the primaries reflected the maturity and unity within the APC.
“I am happy the primaries went well and peacefully. From what I have seen, I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt that APC members are united.
“We are all APC members, there is no problem, no victor and no vanquished,” the governor said.
He described the exercise as a true reflection of democracy and praised party supporters for their peaceful conduct throughout the process.
Yahaya also expressed optimism that the 2027 general elections would be peaceful nationwide, noting that APC primaries in various states were proceeding without hitches.
“I am sure the APC primaries are being conducted peacefully in all the states,” he added.
Chairman of the APC Primaries Monitoring Committee for Gombe State, Malam Kabiru Musa, also lauded the calm atmosphere during the exercise.
He expressed satisfaction that the primaries were progressing smoothly, particularly among supporters of the two aspirants, Sadam Bello and Zakariya Jidda, at Jekadafari in the governor’s ward.
“In most of the wards we visited, the exercise was orderly, and security personnel were maintaining calm and preventing any disruption,” Musa said.
