Ado-Ekiti, Feb.5, 2026(NAN) The police on Thursday arraigned five persons before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly constituting public nuisance.
The defendants – Musa Ado, 25; Zakaria Habib, 23; Ibrahim Muhammed, 20; Sule Ibrahim, 24; and Abubakar Mustapha, 25, are facing a charge of constituting public nuisance.
The police prosecutor, Insp Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Feb. 2 at about 05:30 a.m in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by disturbing the peace of the community.
According to him, the offence contravened Section 181(1) (d) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The prosecutor asked the court for adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
Counsel to the defendants, Mr Abiola Gboyega, urged the court to grant them bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted each of the defendants N50,000 bail with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until March 6 for hearing. (NAN)
