Police arraign facility manager over alleged N353,800 theft

Lagos, Jan. 16, 2026(NAN)An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday arraigned a 39-year-old facility manager, Ayobami Bogunbolu, over alleged theft and conspiracy involving estate funds and property.

 

 

Bogunbolu, who resides in Alapere, Lagos, was charged by the police with three counts bordering on conspiracy and stealing, contrary to Sections 411, 280, and 287(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

 

The prosecutor, Insp Donjour Perezi, told the court that the defendant and others now at large allegedly conspired to steal money and property belonging to The Avenue Estate, Ogudu GRA Phase II, on Dec. 29, 2025.

 

Perezi further alleged that the defendant stole the sum of N353,800, property of the estate.

 

The defendant is also being accused of stealing 25 metres of armoured cable wire valued at N106,000, property belonging to the estate.

 

The prosecutor stated that the offences were reported at the Ogudu Police Station and that investigations revealed the defendant, who was the estate’s facility manager, was entrusted with funds to procure palm trees, flour, fuel, and other items for the estate.

 

However, the complainant, the estate’s chairman, alleged that the defendant failed to account for the funds and also removed an armoured cable without authorisation.

 

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

 

The Magistrate, Mrs S.K. Matepo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

 

She adjourned the case until Jan. 21, for mention.(NAN)
