Kathmandu, Feb. 10, 2026 (Xinhua/NAN) The Ramechhap District Police, says it has rescued 10 persons after a passenger bus travelling from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga plunged into a river in Nepal’s central Ramechhap district on Tuesday.
Rajan Prasad Timsina, Spokesperson for the Ramechhap District Police, told Xinhua that the bus carrying 13 people including the driver, veered off the highway and fell about 100 meters into the Tamakoshi River,.
He said that the incident left at least 10 people seriously injured.
”We have rescued 10 individuals and taken them to a local hospital.
”Most of them are in serious condition, and rescue operations are ongoing with the support of local residents,” he said.
He added that efforts are continuing to locate and assist any remaining passengers. (Xinhua/NAN)
