The Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council, with more than 360 support groups, have begun door-to-door campaign in Nasarawa State.

Mr Yusuf Omaki, Nasarawa State Coordinator for the Council, inaugurated the campaign for Nasarawa South on Thursday in Lafia.

Omaki said the groups would work for the victory of APC Presidential candidate, Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima as well as other candidates in the state during the general elections.

According to him, the door-to-door sensitisation began in the western zone, followed by northern zone and will end today in the southern zone of the state.

Omaki, who is also the Deputy Director, North Central support groups, said all the support groups in the zone would work in synergy to ensure victory for Tinubu and Shettima.

“As you can see, this people here are members of independent campaign council, they are all support groups; we have 365 support groups in Nasarawa state.

“They come together to be sensitised towards the door-to-door campaign, they will take the message back home to our supporters to commence the campaign,” he said.

In his remarks, Alhaji Tanko Al-makura, Senator representing Nasarawa South, said he was confident that the groups would work together to add value to the political success of Tinubu/Shettima presidential bid.

He expressed hope that APC would garner nothing less than 60 per cent of Nasarawa state votes for Tinubu /Shettima.

Al-makura said that APC had taken into cognisance the value of gender in its political manifestos, describing its presidential candidate as gender sensitive.

“So far so good, you can see the calibre of people who are here, these are kind of people you need to win an election.

“We have former commissioners, former House of Reps members, former state assembly members and former government officials,’’ he said. (NAN)
