President Jonathan reshuffles cabinet

goodluck_jonathan__President Goodluck Jonathan has reshuffled his cabinet following last week’s resignation of seven ministers, who tendered their resignation in pursuit of their political ambitions.

The Minister of state for Foreign Affairs (2) Nurudeen Mohammad will now supervise the ministry of information, while the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (1) Viola Onwuliri will be Minister state for Education. The minister of state for health is Dr Haliru Alhassan, while the minister of Trade and Investment, Olusegun Aganga will now oversee the office of the minister of state for trade and investments.

Also, the minister of Special Duties Kabiru Turaki will now oversee the ministry of Labour and Productivity while the minister of Niger delta will oversee the office of the minister of state for Niger Delta.

The minor cabinet reshufflument was announced Wednesday by the supervising minister of information while briefing journalists after the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.

Recall that last week, seven serving Ministers including Minister for Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, Minister of State, Niger Delta, Darius Ishaqu, Minister of State, Trade and Investment, Samuel Ortom, Minister of State, Education, Nyesom Wike, and Minister of Information, Labaran Maku resigned.

The Minister of Labour, Emeka Wogu and Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro also indicated their intentions to contest for political offices by resigning from cabinet.
