An Osun-based Muslim youth organisation, Al-Amanah, has commended a Christian cleric, Pastor Basil Alabi, for distributing foodstuffs to some Muslim families in Isokan and Irewole communities in the state toward the ongoing Ramadan.

The group’s president, Mr. Fadilulahi Al-Amanah, gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Osogbo.

Al-Amanah said that such acts of kindness and generosity toward the Muslim community exemplified the spirit of unity and compassion that transcended religious boundaries.

“Such gestures did not only address the immediate needs of the vulnerable members of such communities but also fostered a sense of mutual respect and understanding among people of different faiths,” he said.

Al-Amanah praised Alabi for his exemplary leadership and commitment to serving humanity, regardless of religious affiliation.

“I want to say that his compassionate actions embodied the universal principles of charity and empathy that are central to both Islam and Christianity.

“The generous donation serves as a shining example of how individuals from diverse religious backgrounds can come together in solidarity to address the challenges facing our communities,” he said.

According to him, the kindness and solidarity exhibited by the cleric resonate deeply and inspire hope for a brighter future.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Basil Alabi for his act of generosity that will further foster harmonious relationships among people of different faiths,” he said.

Al-Amanah urged other religious leaders and adherents to emulate Alabi’s gesture and embrace the virtues of compassion and empathy. (NAN)
