The senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim, has urged Muslim faithful to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray for Nigeria and the Bola Tinubu administration’s success.
Ibrahim, in a statement issued in Okitipupa on Monday, said that the prayers had become necessary for the country to overcome its current challenges.
The senator congratulated the Muslim faithful on the commencement of the 2024 Ramadan fast.
Ibrahim, a governorship aspirant in the state, also urged Muslims to pray for hitch-free All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in April and a smooth governorship election on Nov. 16.
He implored them to pray for a purposeful and visionary leader, with the love of the people at heart, to emerge as the next governor of the state.
He also urged the Ramadan observers to use the season to renew their spiritual lives, uphold the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (SWT), and show love by giving to the needy.
“I congratulate all my Muslim brothers and sisters in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
“It is important to note that Allah has granted us this opportunity to move closer to Him and make our desires known to Him.
“I want to urge all my Muslim brothers and sisters to remember our nation, Nigeria, in our prayers for divine intervention in all the socio-economic challenges we are currently facing.
“Let us remember to pray for our leader, President Bola Tinubu, for divine wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to ameliorate the impacts of the current socio-economic challenges in our dear nation.
“I implore you to also pray for our state, that Allah should intervene and ensure a purposeful and visionary leader who has the love of our people at heart to emerge at the forthcoming governorship election.
“Let us remember the needy at this crucial time and pray for those who have lost their lives to insecurity and other hardships in the country,” the senator said. (NAN)
