Some women and girls recently rescued by Nigerian military from Sambisa forest are pregnant.
A spokesman for the Vigilante group in Borno state, Muhammad Gavi, said some of the 293 women and girls rescued on Tuesday were seen and observed by members of his group to be pregnant.
The military had said on Tuesday it was carrying out screening to determine the identities of those rescued. On Thursday, another 234 women and girls were liberated from Boko Haram strongholds in Sambisa.
Amnesty International however urged Nigerian authorities not to increase the trauma of those rescued by not prolonging their stay during investigation.
