Speaking on Thursday during the opening ceremony of a retreat for members and legislative staff of the assembly, Uba announced that the state lawmakers were in the meeting to discuss challenges of the 2021 fiscal year and the prospects and workability of the 2022 budget.
The speaker also said that the retreat would help participants to understand government’s policy drive as well as work in collaboration with the executive arm of government.
He noted that the retreat would rekindle their passion for the progress of the state by continuing to play their legislative roles to keep the state on the path of development.
Uba said that they would monitor through effective oversight to ensure full implementation of the 2022 budget which promises to stimulate the state economy through improved overall development of the state.
He also assured the residents of the state that the 2022 budget would be passed before the end of December to maintain the January to December budget circle.
The budget retreat is organized by the Benue government in conjunction with Wandughgbe Multi-business Ltd.
The theme of the retreat is: Economic Growth and Human Capital Development in Budget Trends Sustainability.
