Traditional ruler lauds Bello over projects

The Onu Ankpa, Kogi, Alhaji Abdulmalik Umar, has commended Gov. Yahaya Bello (GYB) for his giant strides in the execution of  projects in the Eastern Senatorial district of the state.

Umar gave the commendation on Friday when the Forum of Special Advisers to the governor, paid him a visit in Ankpa, in continuation of the ”GYB Legacy Projects’ Tour” to the eastern senatorial district of the state.

The forum recently embarked on inspection tour to some executed and ongoing projects across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The aim was to project the governor’s achievements in all sectors, especially infrastructure development, to the world.

”Bello, an Ebira man has made Ankpa better than it was because of the construction and completion of the Ankpa Township Road, Ankpa-Abejukolo Road and several other laudable achievements recorded in the last six years in Igalaland,” Umar said.

Umar, also the Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Traditional Council, also commended the governor for uniting the people of the state.

”Bello is a divine child on a divine mission; the way he became governor is an indication that the hand of God is with him,” he said.

Earlier, the Forum’s Chairman and Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr Ochidi Usman, said it was imperative to showcase the governor’s achievements in Igala land.

He urged the people to be fair and objective and not promote ethnic sentiments and divisive tendencies.

”I monitored the progress of the construction of the roads personally because of my love for Ankpa, a community I lived for almost a decade,” he said.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters,  Clement Hamidu, said the Bello led administration had restored peace and security in Ankpa communities.

He said that Ankpa used to be unsafe and a hotbed of criminal elements, but the situation is getting better and the people are happier for it. (NAN)
