Ibadan, April 9, 2026 (NAN) Two women, Patient Ogbeta, 30 and Mary Adekola, 19, on Thursday, appeared before a Grade A Customary Court in Mapo, Ibadan, charged with breaking into a house and stealing N150,000.
The defendants both pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of conspiracy, breaking in and stealing levelled against them.
The Prosecutor, Insp Ayodele Ayeni, had informed the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offences on March 10, at 5:00 p.m., at No. 31 Adediran St., Oke-Itunun area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Shedding more light on the matter, Ayeni said that Ogbeta allegedly connived with Adekola to break into the home of one Joy Okonkwo to steal a cash of N150,000.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene the provision of Sections 516, 412 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. ii Law of Oyo State 2000.
The court’s President, Mrs O.E. Owoseni admitted each of the defendants to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two reliable sureties, who must be relatives.
Owoseni added that the sureties must possess valid National Identification Numbers, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) utility bill and evidence of tax payment to the Oyo State government.
Subsequently, she adjourned the case until April 30 for hearing. (NAN)
