Tunji Disu resumes duty as new AIG of FCID Lagos

Lagos, Feb. 10, 2026 (NAN) Mr Tunji Disu on Tuesday, assumed office as the new Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Lagos Annex, Alagbon.

Disu formally took over from the outgoing AIG, Mrs Margaret Ochalla, at the department’s headquarters in Lagos.

During the handover ceremony, the AIG thanked newsmen for their cooperation and assured them of his commitment to effective leadership and continuity.

“I want to thank you for the cooperation you have given so far. I assure you that we will give our best and continue to work together for the progress of the department.

“There was no cause for concern regarding ongoing engagements within the department,” Disu said.

In her remarks, the outgoing AIG, (Ochalla) appealed to the media to extend similar level of cooperation and support to her successor.

Ochalla expressed confidence in Disu’s capacity to lead the department and wished the new AIG a successful tenure.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports, that the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun had on Feb 2, redeployed Disu, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and operational efficiency within the Nigeria Police Force.

Prior to his redeployment, AIG Disu served as the AIG of Police in charge of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), where he played a key role in coordinating investigations into complex financial and economic crimes.

As a seasoned officer, AIG Disu had previously served as Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Rivers State Commands, among other strategic assignments across the country.

He was elevated to the rank of AIG on March 25, 2025, in recognition of his years of dedicated service and outstanding contributions to policing and internal security in Nigeria. (NAN)
