The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered)(NIM) has unveiled plans to enhance women’s inclusion in digital technology by converging women in leadership at its flagship Women in Management and Leadership (WIMLEAD) conference.

Registrar, NIM, Mrs Taiwo Olusesi, in a statement on Thursday in Lagos, said the conference, scheduled for July 23 and July 24, in Ikeja, would drive transformational development for women across board.

She noted that the event which started twenty-three years ago had become an important platform for women leaders in both private and public sectors of the nation’s economy.

According to her, it is a platform that usually brings women together to brainstorm and proffer solutions to issues that directly affect them at the workplace, the economy and the home front.

“It has attained such a reputation that it attracts distinguished ladies in positions of authority and has become a major item in the annals of women’s discourse,” she said.

Olusesi added that the women’s conference woule come in form of action-based learning, group case presentations and interactive sessions.

She said that the sub themes included leveraging technology for career advancement for women; women leadership in the c-suite for gender parity; innovative solutions for women empowerment, and health talk: self-care strategies for women leaders.

“The conference will be headlined by presentations by women who have distinguished themselves in different works of life sharing their experiences with participants on how they were able to break the glass ceiling to get to the top.

“The speakers at the conference include Mrs Solape Akinpelu, Chief Executive Officer/Co-Founder, Hervest; Dr Yemisi Adeyeye, Managing Director of Lifefount Hospital; Melanie Ayoola, Executive Director, Trantor IT Infrastructure Services Ltd.

“Others are Mrs Amaka Bifom, Director, Human Resource, TGI Group, and Toyin Bashir, Partner, Banwo and Ighodalo.

“It is hoped that at the end of the conference, participants will bring the experiences and knowledge gained to bear on the performance of their jobs and also impact positively on the economy,” the registrar said. (NAN
