A 28-year-old woman, Divine Kalu, on Tuesday, appeared before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, for allegedly stealing an iPhone worth N1.6million.
Kalu, whose address was not provided, is facing a one-charge of theft.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, ASP E.O.Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Aug.6, at about 5.00 p.m. at Tempo Paper Pulp and Packaging Plc, Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that the defendant stole an iPhone valued at N1.6 million, belonging to one Dr Seun Obasanjo.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N200, 000 with one responsible surety in like sum.
She directed that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government.
She adjourned the case until Aug.24, for further hearing.(NAN).
