Woman, 58, docked over alleged misconduct

A 58-year-old woman, Olubunmi Adebayo was on Friday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, over an alleged misconduct.

Adebayo, whose address was not provided, was charged with conduct likely to cause the breach of peace, to which she pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, ASP Olagoke Adegbenro, said the defendant committed the offence on June 23, at about 5.50 p.m., at Smart School premises, Ido, Ibadan.

Adegbenro alleged that the defendant, who was a part-time teacher at the aforementioned school, was shouting and refusing to vacate the school premises after which her services were no longer needed by the school authority.

He said the offence contravened Section 249(d) of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 and one surety in like sum.

Sanusi said that the surety must be a blood relation to the defendant and adjourned the case until July 14, for mention. (NAN)
