Youths in Yobe have advocated peace and sustainable development to strengthen unity and promote grassroots cohesion across communities.
Saidu Jakusko made the call on Friday at the Jakusko Youth Unity and Strategic Engagement Summit 2026 held in Jakusko Local Government Area.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the summit, which drew youth leaders and stakeholders, had as its theme: “Promoting Unity, Civic Participation, Peace and Sustainable Development.”
It was convened under the leadership of Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka, the Chairman All Progressive Congress (APC) Yobe, to deliberate on strategies for strengthening grassroots cohesion through active civic engagement.
Jakusko emphasized the importance of unity and loyalty to constituted authority, describing it as critical to achieving sustainable progress at the grassroots.
He urged youths to strengthen ties with leaders from ward to local government levels.
He noted that solidarity remained key to building a united and formidable structure.
Jakusko also reaffirmed the group’s allegiance to party leadership, stressing their commitment to directives from the state leadership.
“Whatever Mai Mala Buni says, that is what we will do, and whatever the APC State Party Chairman says, that is what we will do,” he said.
Participants at the summit underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence and active participation in governance as essential tools for sustainable development in the area. (NAN)
