2 men docked for allegedly stealing motorcycle

Sango-Ota (Ogun), Feb. 24, 2026 (NAN) The police on Tuesday, dragged two men before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth one million naira.
The defendants are: Sodiq Olaleye, 33; and Sodiq Obalola, 22.
The duo whose addresses were not stated, are standing trial on a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.
They both, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor,ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendants committed the offence alongside others now at large, on Feb. 14,  Opposite Oja in Ota.
He alleged that the defendants and their accomplices, conspired to steal a motorcycle with registration no.LSR 555QP belonging to  a complainant, one Mr Ayo Ojo.
The motorcycle is valued at one million naira.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravene the provisions of sections 390 and 516 of the Criminal Law of Ogun, 2006.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, granted the defendants bail in the sun of N200,000 each, with one surety each in like sum.
The court directed that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government.
She adjourned the case until March 3, for hearing.(NAN)
