Two men, Ibrahim Adebisi, 24, and Husseini Haruna, 24, were arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Monday, for allegedly aiding, abetting and stealing a TVS motorcycle worth N1.5 million.
The defendants, whose addresses were not disclosed, were arraigned on a three-count charge of aiding, abetting, and stealing.
They, however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Iyabo Oladoyin alleged that the defendants conspired together to commit the offences.
Oladoyin alleged that the first defendant on April 5, at Ojoo area, Ibadan, stole one NX100 TVS motorcycle which belonged to an unknown person.
She alleged that the second defendant, Husseini, aided Ibrahim by assisting him in securing a buyer for the stolen motorcycle, with full knowledge that it had been stolen.
According to Oladoyin, the offence is contrary to the provisions of section 383 and punishable under section 390 (9), 516 and 519 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
Defence Counsel, Mr. Surajo Musa applied for the defendants’ bail in most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs. T. G. Daodu admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Daodu said one of the sureties must be a blood relative to each of the defendants.
She adjourned the matter until June 15, for hearing. (NAN)
