2 traders docked for allegedly buying stolen property

Two traders were on Friday docked in  Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja for allegedly buying a stolen copper electrical wire.

The police charged  Saminu Hussain, 23, and Naziru Abubakar, 26, with criminal conspiracy and possession of stolen property.

They, however, pleaded not guilty the charge against them.

The Prosecution Counsel, O.S. Osho had earlier told the court that sometime in April, the defendants and bought a burnt copper electrical wire worth N108,000 from one Jacko Azaki, of no fixed address

Osho said that the complainant, Jennifer Awelo of Leisure Court Estate, Lugbe, reported the matter at the police station.

.The offence according to Osho contravenes the provisions of Section 317 of the Penal Code Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Magistrate Mercy Bamidele admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N200,000 each with one surety each in like sum.

Bamidele adjourned the case until June 11 for trial. (NAN)
