21 days in Big Brother’s House

The show continues, with more turns, twists…and ‘ships, Jubal Kanayo writes.

Ozo is new Head of House

Ozo emerged the new Head of House and took Dorathy as his deputy. It did raise a few eyebrows in some quarters – for those who expected him to pick Nengi – but an equal number of followers saw it coming. Nengi is the competition and love interest, while Dorathy is the friend who is not so much of a competition.

Kiddwaya Erica and Laycon

Kidd, Erica and Laycon

While Ozo sorted himself out with his ladies (Dora and Nengi) and everyone got to know where they stand, the confusing and furiously knit love triangle involving Erica, Laycon and Kiddwaya got quite entangled and difficult to decipher. From proclaiming his undying friendship to proclaiming his undying love, Laycon underwent quite the transformation.

He confessed his love to Erica, but she told him the thing with Kidd was gaining grounds and she would rather put her energy in that.

“I am mentally attracted to you but physically attracted to Kidd,” she told him. Talk about shooting straight from the hip.

Even after the party on Saturday night, Laycon would not let it rest. He had his emptions all over the place, aiming “protect” Erica and prevent her from doing anything “regrettable”. He failed in his bid to get the rest of the housemates to join his #SaveErica campaign; not even Praise would agree with him.

Dora did advise him to refrain from the constant ‘pushy-ness’ and let it come naturally. But, did he listen?

‘Talking to Erica worth more than N3mil’

While Laycon’s feelings for Erica grew wings and refused to fly, he disclosed to Praise that “The experience of talking to Erica even though I know I can’t be with her right now is worth more than N3 million”.

Erica takes a plea

Seeing how she never seems to get through to Laycon and how she constantly needs to remind him of her focus on Kidd, Erica made up her mind to stay away from him, to let the situation fizzle out, as she was beginning to feel stifled.

Hours later, she declared her break-up with Kidd, only to have her tongue in his mouth hours later. Whew!

Kiddwaya joins the mix

Reacting, Kiddwaya wondered why Laycon declared his intentions late and questioned Laycon’s genuineness in wanting to be with Erica.

Erica, however, stated that it was not about who asked first, adding that even if Laycon showed interest before Kiddwaya, she won’t pick him further affirming her claims of not being attracted to Laycon physically.

Dora and Laycon

Dora on Kidd

Well, she has always loved being a member of the ‘Gossip Coven’ but she took to another level during a Midnight conversation with Ozo, when she told him that Kidd was manipulating all the ladies in the House – except her, obviously – and this has made him the “most dangerous person in the House”.

Eric moves on from Lilo

Who would have thought Eric would rise from his ‘slumber’ after the eviction of his love interest? Well, almost immediately after her eviction, he smelt the coffee and came alive, interacting more and, even, becoming one of the stars of the short drama the housemates had to present to Biggie.

His love for food is on another level, though.

Prince and Tolanibaj

Do we have a #PrinceBaj?

Sometime during the week, Prince excused himself from the Fellowship of the Forsaken (TrickyTee, Wathoni, Lucy, Tochi) and took a shot at Tolanibaj.

She did agree – with sitting on his laps and all, right?

Fast-forward 24 hours into their ‘ship, she had to set the ground rules to keep their ship sailing.

As Prince was talking to Trikytee about wanting to remain friends with everyone in the House but his current situation isn’t allowing that, Tolanibaj walked in on them and demanded to know what the conversation was about.

After hearing that it involved her, she didn’t look pleased that Prince didn’t talk to her first about it. So when Prince and Trikytee asked why she didn’t like Prince being friends with Wathoni, she sat and explained her points. “I want you to reduce your talk with her, just set boundaries. I don’t want to embarrass myself on national TV and I know you have some feelings for her,” she said. Would you blame her though? Just last week, Prince was juggling his feelings between Nengi (who casted hi off for his ‘lack of loyalty’), Wathoni and Tolanibaj (who has him tied up with so many rules).

The Housemates win their first wager

The housemates won their first wager, with the love-themed musical. The stars of the show were Tochi, Prince and Erica. Kudos to the housemates.

Prince gets a snap

During the rehearsals for the team’s wager, Prince – obviously tired of the back and forth – walked out on the rest of the team. His action drew the ire of the HoH, who did not think twice about snapping at him.

Team Cornish wins N2mil

One of the sponsors of the show, Dulux Paints, gave the housemates a challenge (Dulux design Challenge) with N2million as the cash prize for the winning team. After hours of trying to get it right, Cornish Dawn was announced as the winner, earning itself the grand prize and some Dulux paints for the team (made up of Kaisha, Nengi, Dorathy, Erica, Tochi, Lucy, Trikytee and Brightho).
