Lagos, Feb. 23, 2026 (NAN) The Police has dragged three men before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over charges bordering on stealing and receiving of stolen property.
The defendants, Kenneth Raphael, 27; Samuel Gift, 22; and Emmanuel Sopurechi, 32, are standing trial before Magistrate Mr Lateef Layeni, on a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, and receiving stolen property.
They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Jan. 28, at the Alaba International Market in Ojo, alongside others now at large.
Uche alleged that the first and second defendants conspired with others at large, to steal two samsung laptops i5 valued at N200, 000, two HP laptops i7 valued at N250, 000, one HP laptop i5 valued at N100, 000, and another HP laptop i5 valued at N110, 000.
According to him, the total value of stolen goods is N660, 000.
The items are said to belong to one Mr Ifeanyi Umerah, the complainant.
The third defendant was however alleged to have received the stolen items from the first and second defendants, knowing same to be stolen goods.
He said the offences contravene the provisions of sections 287, 328 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The court granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300, 000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until March 2, for mention. (NAN)
