4 security guards docked for alleged negligent conduct

Four security guards were on Thursday docked in a Abuja Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged negligent conduct.
The police charged Collins Ogue,45; Alubo Abel,35; Onyinyechin Nud,32, and Godspower Maidaw,32, all security guards attached to New Yorker Lounge with four counts of negligence.

They each however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, S.O. Emmanuel, told the court that, the complainant, Mr David Awonto, who lives in  Maitama Abuja, reported the matter at the Maitama Police station on June 15.
Emmanuel informed the court that, the complainant’s car which was  parked at the New Yorker Lounge located on the  Kashim Ibrahim way Maitama Abuja, was vandalized.
He said that the complainant’s clothes, international passport and N500,000 cash, were stolen while the defendants were on duty.
The offence, the police said, contravened the provisions of sections 196 of the Penal Code.
Chief Magistrate Ekpeyong Inyang admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with one surety each in like sum
She ordered that each of the sureties must provide Identification cards and must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
The chief magistrate adjourned the case until July 28 for hearing.(NAN).
