A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced a 28-year-old businessman, Sunday Morgat, to 2 years in prison for stealing a tricycle.
The convict pleaded guilty to the charge of theft brought against him by the police.
The Magistrate, Mrs Irene Pati, sentenced the convict to two years in prison with an option of N80,000 fine.
While reviewing the facts, the prosecutor, Insp. Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported in May 16, at the “A” Diversion Police Station by officers on routine patrol.
Gokwat said the convict stole the tricycle from where it was parked before he was arrested by the Police.
He said the offences contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law. (NAN)
