A Federal High Court has ordered the release of a former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who has been in a correctional facility over allegations relating to financial corruption.
The court, sitting in Lagos on Monday morning, ordered immediate release of Kalu, sequel to the application brought on his behalf by his lawyers, led by Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN.
The trial judge, Justice Mohammad Liman, granted the application moved by Kalu’s counsel, Fagbemi,without contest from the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
