Meadows Community and Development Outreach (MCDO), a non-governmental organization based in Kwara State, has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to helping underprivileged individuals, particularly children, access primary education.

In pursuit of its goal to promote quality and inclusive education, good nutrition, and support for the less privileged, the NGO donated school uniforms, school sandals, packs of Indomie, and crates of eggs.

The exercise comes weeks after the demise of one of the organization’s cofounders, Comr. Saliu Bashiru, who has been described as an epitome of selfless community developer.

According to the NGO, the recent donation is part of its Educational Support Program for the Less Privileged (ESPLP) aimed at supporting underprivileged children, particularly those out of school, in Kwara State, Nigeria.

The gesture was complemented by the payment of school fees for selected pupils to lessen the burden on their families and facilitate more intensive learning among them.

The ESPLP focuses on achieving SDG no 2 and 4, which emphasizes zero hunger and quality education within local communities.

MCDO’s scholarship scheme, which kicked off in the first phase with the enrollment of 15 pupils in Kwara Central, has now extended with a second phase.

The NGO hopes to reach more underprivileged children and support their education through the scheme.
