Following the appearance of former acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Joy Nunieh, via zoom, before the House of Representatives’ Committee on NDDC, the committee has summoned the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godswill Akpabio, as well as its Managing Director, Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei, to appear and make presentations before it on Monday, July 20, 2020.
The committee, investigating how the commission spent the sum of N18billion on projects in four years, had extended an invitation to Nunieh on Thursday but it had been reportedly rebuffed by the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike. However, in the early hours of Friday, before a team of policemen could besiege her residence and whisk her away, the governor made arrangements for her to be succoured to the state government house, from where she made the appearance via the social media app.
