The Gboleru Ruling House of Ikirun in Osun, on Tuesday dispelled rumours of any misunderstanding among its family members.
The Head of Gboleru Ruling House, Mr Mudashiru Olatunji, told newsmen during a prayer session for Prince Adesegun Gboleru , who is the candidate nominated by the ruling House for the Akirun stool in Ikirun .
Olatunji, explained that the ruling house would continue to support and also promote social justice inspite of several misguided information in some quarters.
According to him, the Gboleru family is giving its unflinching support to Prince Gboleru , who has been nominated for the royal stool .
” We shall not relent in our support for one of our own, Gboleru , the CEO of Mortgage Centre, Canada Financial, Georgia .
” He is a philanthropist, an amiable and respected person, who is worthy of emulation, ” he said .
Olatunji also commended the effort of the state government towards ensuring that due process is followed in electing the new Akirun of Ikirun.
He noted that the decision of the state government to respect the court verdict is commendable, adding that such will be in favour of the Gboleru Ruling House.
Olatunji, therefore, called on family members and indigenes of Ikirun to support the royal house, to ensure that the stool returns to them.
Speaking on the position of the state government on the Akirun stool, Prince Gboleru , praised Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola , for the role played so far in restoring peace to the ancient town .
” I want to praise our Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola, for the role he has played concerning the Akirun stool.
” I know the stool will return to me and I will be crowned the next Akirun of Ikirun,” he said.
Gboleru, however, sought for the prayers and support of all members of Gboleru Ruling House and citizens of the state .
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN ) reports that the former traditional ruler of the town, Oba AbdulRauf Olawale Adedeji, who ascended the royal stool in 1991, joined his ancestors in February after a brief illness. (NAN
