Ibadan, Feb. 26, 2026 (NAN) A Federal High Court in Ibadan on Thursday remanded two men, Rauf Muideen and Olalekan Alimi, at the Agodi Correctional Centre for allegedly trafficking 100 grammes of Cannabis sativa.
Muideen, 28, and Alimi, 33, pleaded guilty when a one-count charge of dealing in narcotics was read to them.
Consequently, Justice Nkeonye Maha ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Agodi Correctional Centre and adjourned the case until March 20 for the presentation and review of facts.
Counsel to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Oyo State Command, Mrs A. A. Balogun, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Oct. 12, 2025, at the Sagbe area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Balogun said operatives of the agency arrested the defendants following intelligence reports from members of the public that the duo were involved in drug trafficking.
She added that the NDLEA operatives found the defendants in possession of a bag containing 100 grammes of dried weeds, which tested positive for cannabis.
According to her, the offence contravened the provisions of Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. (NAN)
