The incumbent and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, has won the governorship election in Kwara State. Ahmed was declared the winner of the poll on Sunday evening by the Independent National Electoral Commission. He polled 295,832 votes to defeat the candidate of the People Democratic Party, Senator Simeon Ajibola, who scored 115,220 votes.
