The Chairman of Mushin Local Government Area, Mr. Haruna Aruwe, has inaugurated 10 newly constructed roads across the council area, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and improved connectivity for residents.
The newly commissioned roads include Alasalatu, Mosalashi, Cash, Akingbola, Ibiosi, Alvis, Tadeyo, Jumoke, Oloje, and Garba streets.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Aruwe said the projects were part of efforts to ensure that residents enjoy the dividends of democracy through better road networks and enhanced accessibility.
He expressed appreciation to residents for their continued support and assured them that more road projects would be executed across various communities in Mushin.
According to him, the administration remains focused on connecting more areas through quality infrastructure.
“I am just imploring the residents that they should make good use of it because we don’t pray to come back in the next four years to this area again.” He said
“We are moving to another street, we are moving to another area because we have promised the people of Mushin that we are going to do more roads for them, connecting them together,” he said.
Aruwe appealed to residents to make proper use of the newly constructed roads and installed streetlights, urging them to protect the facilities from vandals.
“They have to take charge of it because they are the ones living there,” he added.
Former Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Ganiyu Solomon, commended the council chairman for the projects, describing them as a significant boost to social and economic activities within the local government.
He noted that improved road infrastructure would enhance mobility, encourage transportation services, and support local businesses.
Also speaking, a Community Development Association member, Alhaja Tawakalitu Balogun, lauded the initiative, stating that the roads would positively impact economic and social activities in the affected communities.
She pledged the association’s commitment to helping maintain the facilities and ensure their longevity.
The inauguration is part of the local government’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for residents across Mushin.
